About the Author
Potluck is a reflections by a group of writers from diverse backgrounds. They came together as The Critique Group during Creative Writing courses conducted by Renu Balakrishnan at Xaviers Institute of Communications, Mumbai. The Critique Group met regularly through the years, over many dinners. The writers were encouraged by Renu to be different, to experiment with form and content, to give and receive criticism. The comments were gentle at first and as the group got closer, the critiques got harsher and the stories better. Every story stems from a deep personal experience. or from looking at life with sensitivity. Just like the group, there is no common thread that connects the stories. Each voice in Potluck is unique. Good in parts like a Potluck dinner

Like a potluck dinner where many people bring in different food with different flavours, this book has different stories from different authors. Some of them are great, some mediocre and some one gets the feeling why was this published. Overall worth reading. Warning, some stories are really heart-rendering.
